Resources in one account cannot accidentally access resources in another unless explicitly allowed. This is far more robust than relying solely on IAM policies within a single account.

Cost visibility and allocation become straightforward when accounts map to business units, projects, or cost centers. Each account's spending is clearly attributable without complex tagging strategies. This simplifies showback and chargeback processes and makes it easier to identify cost anomalies.

Service limit management prevents one workload from consuming limits that affect others. Cloud providers impose per-account limits on resources like EC2 instances, Lambda functions, or API calls. Separate accounts ensure that a spike in one workload does not starve another.
