Psychological safety is foundational. Team members must feel safe to ask questions, admit mistakes, propose ideas that might fail, and challenge each other's thinking. Without safety, people hide problems until they become crises, avoid risky innovation, and disengage from genuine collaboration. I cultivate safety by responding constructively to mistakes, encouraging questions, and modeling vulnerability by sharing my own uncertainties.

Intellectual honesty drives quality work. I foster a culture where being right matters more than appearing right, where evidence trumps opinion, and where changing your mind based on new information is valued rather than seen as weakness. This requires separating ego from ideas and creating norms around constructive debate.
