Manual testing requires no upfront investment in scripting or tool setup, making it quick to start.

However, manual testing has limitations. It is slow and error-prone for repetitive tasks. Running the same regression suite manually before every release is tedious and testers may miss steps or make mistakes due to fatigue.

Automated testing addresses these limitations. Once a test script is written, it can be executed hundreds of times with perfect consistency.
