I would clarify before acting. I would repeat what I heard, state the part that is unclear, and ask for confirmation or more detail. For example: "To make sure I understand correctly, you want me to do X now and monitor Y afterward. Could you clarify the timing?" Closed-loop communication protects the patient and prevents assumptions.
