The developer answers a few questions, such as service name, programming language, and which dependencies they need, and the golden path creates everything needed to deploy a production-ready service. Within 30 minutes, the developer has a running service with health checks, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts, all configured to organizational standards.

Golden paths are important for several reasons. First, they reduce cognitive load. Without golden paths, a developer creating a new service must make dozens of decisions: which base Docker image to use, how to structure the CI pipeline, what monitoring to set up, how to configure secrets management, and so on.
